Time to Kick it into High Gear

So, if you know me….you know I research. I’m slightly intrigued by this site. I have trained hard, dieted harder and leaned down. I’ve learned that if you want to lean down, you need to restrict calories and hit the cardio with High Intensity Interval Training (HIITS). We all hate it. That means WORK.

I’ll be doing more body weight training now. Just because I need a break and with the new year, there are SO many people in the gym and the weights. LOL  I need a break. And, something I can do at the gym or home.

Included in the new training program CARDIO! HIITS always works for me. I just have to be consistent. I like this plan 2-3 days a week.

  1. Fasted state in the am with some caffiene in my system.
  2. 5-10 minute slow warm up.
  3. 10min HIITS  (intervals)
  4. rest (slow steady state..really low)
  5. and then  20-40 min of steady state

Head home and eat.

I’m sure the fitness professionals I know will flip out with this. But, I think I’m going to try it for a few weeks, with 2 days of fasting included. We’ll see how it works :) What do you think?

Great post! Mike and I were just talking about losing more body fat. We’re in a competition with another couple to lose a bunch o’ body fat before Cabo at the end of March. This really sounds doable.

I’ve noticed a big difference when I up my cardio and do the intervals like he describes. I printed this out to reference and begin this next week.

I’ve been doing a slow roll in cutting back on what I eat and increasing my workout level. This is great! Thanks for sharing.
